Women for Life Organization invites applications from qualified candidates for the post of:
Economic Expert
1 -Working Time: Working time: 35 hours weekly (with flexibility to work extra time and in the week end)
2- Duty Station: WFL- Bidya Office
3- Basic Salary : 5,000 NIS.
4- Background:
Women for Life Society (WFL) is an independent, non-profit and non-governmental Palestinian organization that works to counter gender-based violence and advance the political, legal, social and economic status of Palestinian women. WFL implements its work through providing legal and social services, and building women’s professional, political and legal capacities to empower them to attain their rights and enable them to assume decision-making positions.
WFL is seeking a qualified candidate for the vacancy of of an Economic Expert is expected to provide qualified inputs to the further elaboration and up-scaling of WFL’s service to its beneficiaries, by taking responsibility for the range and quality of information services and communication with its members and other stakeholders and for exploiting the opportunities for women’s economic empowerement afforded by Women for Life.
5- Description of Responsibilities:
The Economic Expert will be reporting to the WFL Director and will work mainly to support the Women for Life by taking responsibility for the range and quality of information services and communication with its members and other stakeholders and for exploiting the opportunities for services afforded by Women for Life .Main Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage and oversee the organization’s income generating strategies and plans.
- Identify and expand strategies partnership with the private sector and the international donors.
- Research and collect data and provide recommendations on relevant project themes.
- Set up financial and funding plans/schemes.
- Update WFL’s strategic plan to include income- generating strategies.
- Prepare and implement feasiblity studies and follow up the implementation of these studies.
- Review the final budgets, also ensure the profitability, and achieve the objectives of the project.
- Measure or estimate the percentage profitability.
- Follow-up and monitor the economical activities.
- Follow up and monitor the financial contracts of the organization, the committment of the other parties and contractors.
- Prepare work plans for the new economical projects and monitor their implementation.
- Design plans and strategies for the employment and training processes that are required for the projects and the beneficiaries of WFL.
- Develop and use the available resources to be used as income- generating sources for WFL
6 -Required academic and professional qualification/ work experience
- At least holds a master degree in economics, MBA, or project management
- At least five years of proven experience in the field of project development research
- To be able to do all the requirements s/he supposes to do as an economic consultant.
- Excellent in English and Arabic writing and speaking
- Experience in I/NGO work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in community organization and mobilization, workshop organization and facilitation.
- Familiarity with the labor law.
- Professional Extensive and proven experience in developing and initiating entrepreneurship schemes.
- Ability to attend the workshops and conferences and link their outputs with the development of the work
- Good project management skills
- Good writing and reporting skills.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Internet use
