Palestinian Electricity Transmission Ltd. (PETL) invites applications from eligible candidates for the following position:


Operations Substation Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Manages & Controls equipment, such as current converters, voltage transformers, and circuit breakers that regulate flow of electricity through substation of electric power system and over distribution lines to consumers.
-Communicates with load dispatcher to report amount of electricity received into substation, and to receive switching instructions.
-Analyze Observes switchboard instruments to detect indications of line disturbances, such as grounded, shorted, or open circuits.

-May inspect equipment, such as transformers, pumps, fans, batteries, and circuit breakers to detect defects.

-Analyzing the calculation of average and peak load conditions from electric recording instrument data and compile periodic report of load variations for system planning purposes.

-Managing all control several remote-controlled substations from central station switchboard and be designated Substation Operator, Automatic.

-Working with maintenance, testing & commissioning department to perform any maintenance schedule.

-Ability to improve maintenance schedule.

-Monitors market prices.

-Monitors market demand.

-Reports daily to CEO on open exposure.

-Running open-book.

-Carries out any other tasks requested by the direct manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

-B.A. in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
