Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR) is a non-profit
non-governmental organization that is nationally recognized for its
comprehensive, specialized and inclusive health, rehabilitation and
development programs for the Palestinian population. Particularly, BASR

As part of a partnership agreement signed with the French NGO Handicap International in order to implement a project funded by Canada-DFATD entitled "Improved Access to Essential Services for Persons with Disabilities in Highly Marginalized Areas of Qalqilya & Tulkarm Districts, BASR is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Position Title: Field Social Worker
Location: Qalqilya
Accountable To: Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Program Manager
Duration: One year contract, with possibility of extension
Job Type: Full time
Job Summary:
-Conduct home visits on daily basis in the targeted areas as integral part of the mobile rehabilitation team.
-Assist the mobile team in the needs assessments of the targeted communities and working collaboratively with individual and institutions to address the identified needs.
-Conduct interviews with beneficiaries and family members to assess their socioeconomic situation.
-Coordinate and network with the different service providers and facilitate referrals of beneficiaries to receive appropriate services.
-Write a social report addressing the situation and the needs of the beneficiary and identify the needed contribution.
-Conduct regular follow up visits for beneficiaries, families and service providers to achieve the rehabilitation plan objectives.
-Offer individual support sessions for beneficiaries and their families to cope with the encountered psychosocial difficulties and promote their resilience & welfare.
-Conduct home based educational sessions on disability/rehabilitation related for PWDs their families.
-Develop and disseminate educational materials on disability/rehabilitation related for PWDs their families.
- Support the development of the family peer support groups for mutual exchanges based on families own experiences with disability
-Offer technical support for staff members on how to deal with persons with disabilities and their families.
-Act as liaison between the beneficiaries and the professionals and conduct briefing sessions for the beneficiaries and their families.
-Participate in the conduction of the need assessment to the health care centers staff to identify their needs on how to become disability friendly staff.
-Develop training sessions for the health care centers staff based on their needs that identified in the need assessment.
-Organize and conduct training/awareness sessions for the health care staff on disability issues.
-Participate in the capacity building trainings and staff meetings.
-Participate on data collection about the project activities and beneficiaries.
-Participate in conducting satisfaction surveys for beneficiaries.
-Participate in meetings/visits to different stakeholders for the benefit of the project.
-Participate in developing and conducting the mobility/independency/participation assessment for beneficiaries.
Professional Qualifications:
-University degree in Social Work or any related field.
-Valid professional license in Social Work.
-2 years of professional experience, preferably in the field of disability.
-Ability to work within a team.
-Ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds.
-Ability to cope with stress and work under pressure.
-Strong communication and reporting skills
-Strong computer skills.
